ISO/TC 130 Working Groups and Plenary Meeting

The International Organization for Standardization (ISO) consists of 272 Technical Committees (TC), and each TC is responsible for developing standards for specific industries. TC 130 focuses on standards for the printing industry and holds two meetings annually, where experts from various countries in fields such as terminology, prepress, printing, post-press, climate neutralization, materials, and certification attend.

Representatives from APTEC were appointed as ISO/TC 130 experts by the national committee in 2010, actively engaging in its work for over a decade. Currently, the Secretariat of ISO/TC 130 is held by China.

The 38th ISO/TC 130 Autumn Meeting was held from December 2nd to 6th, 2024, in Seoul, South Korea. Ms. Brenda Pang, Executive Director of APTEC, and Mr. Lewis Lam, Senior Technical Specialist of APTEC, attended as Chinese expert representatives. They presented the “Colour ꞏ Method ꞏ Master: GBA ReCreates the World’s Colour” Programme ( “Colour ꞏ Method ꞏ Master”) funded by the CCIDA, specifically the “CTV Pilot Scheme,” sharing practical cases, latest achievements, and showing printed sheets to experts from various countries.

During the Plenary Meeting, it was confirmed that the ISO/TC 130 Autumn Meeting will be held in Hong Kong from November 4th to 8th, 2025. Ms. Brenda Pang introduced and promoted Hong Kong at the meeting, generating keen interest from the experts. The ISO/TC 130 Autumn Meeting, also supported by CCIDA, is part of the “Colour ꞏ Method ꞏ Master” Programme and aims to promote the application of CTV technology led by Hong Kong globally through the participation of experts from all around the world.
