Advanced Printing Technology Centre (APTEC), under The Hong Kong
Printers Association (HKPA) initiated the application of a printing
colour control method – Colour Tone Value (CTV). It has been adopted
as one of the first GBA printing organization standards. In order to
promote the effective use of CTV, HKPA has successfully applied
funding from Cultural and Creative Industries Development Agency to
organise the project “Colour ꞏ Method ꞏ Master: GBA ReCreates the
World’s Colour”, with APTEC as the implementation organisation. The
long-term goal of the HKPA and APTEC is to establish CTV technology
as the mainstream method for color control in printing in China, and
expand its adoption to the international printing industry, thereby
solidifying China’s position in the global printing sector.
